Awakening
Awakening is a very personal piece dedicated to a few concepts that have helped me enormously in the mental health realm growing up - including being present, holding a positive outlook, getting outside of my head, and having the dedication and courage to take the first step in improving myself. Suicide, depression, low self esteem, low self worth - these are all reactionary symptoms of a disease that many of us don't know how to deal with. Often times we think life happens to us, when in reality, we happen to life. In reality, our thoughts and motions dictate our emotional state rather than external forces, and when we realize this, we awake.
This piece will be auctioned at Hanna Said's Artistic Beats - all funds will be going to the non-profit organization To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA). To Write Love on Her Arms is an American non-profit organization which aims to present hope for people struggling with addiction, depression, self injury, and thoughts of suicide while also investing directly into treatment and recovery
