CHALLENGE
The Civil Rights Department at CAIR-LA needed an informational brochure produced that outlines the basic functions of the department. The brochure not only had to be professional, but also friendly and inviting – inherently dry content had to be made interesting to read.

ACTION
In the first draft of the brochure, I focused mainly on the “friendly” nature of the design to make content from the department more fun and interesting to look at. This draft was ultimately scratched which led to the second revision of the brochure that focused on compromising the fun feel of the brochure to stay more in line with the feel of CAIR-LA branding.

RESULT
The final draft of the brochure was positively received by the non-profit staff and board. One statement in particular that stood out was, “the designer needs a raise.”
